Although the character design style is heavily inspired by Plants vs Zombies, the gameplay of Zombie Harvest is completely different. In Zombie Harvest, you don’t need to plant any plants, the game will provide them for you to defend. The left side of the screen is your defense area, divided into three floors and you can use up to three plants, one plant per floor. The right side of the screen is the enemy base – the zombies, they will attack your base from there. In the middle of the screen are pieces of land, the zombies attacking on the ground can move and jump over these pieces of land, creating many unpredictable situations.

Your mission in Zombie Harvest is to defend against all enemy attacks, preventing them from entering your base. Some levels will have their own winning objectives, such as shooting through iron cages to rescue teammates, or avoiding shooting escaping teammates.

In addition, Zombie Harvest also creates a bit of a challenge for players by placing several seed bags in front of the plants. You need to defeat the zombies before they reach and eat these seed bags to win the level with full 3 stars. Each seed bag eaten will lower your star level even if you pass the level, greatly affecting the rewards as well as the progress of unlocking content in the game.

Control plants against zombies

In Zombie Harvest, plants will not attack automatically, you need to command them to do so. At a time, you can only control one plant and command it to shoot in the direction you specify, the remaining plants will be in reserve and will not perform any action. You can also switch to controlling another plant at any time you want, as long as they are in a fighting state.

Each plant has a different amount of ammo, if they run out of ammo they will temporarily stop firing and take some time to reload. Zombie Harvest does not have a manual reload feature when the plant is still out of ammo, so the most effective strategy is to shoot all the ammo from one plant before moving on to the next.

In addition to their offensive function, plants also act as a defensive wall. Zombies will take a while to eat your plants when they approach. Plants that are completely eaten will lose their ability to attack and block zombies and will need a while to respawn. During that time, zombies can freely enter your base, if they successfully pass the left edge of the screen, you will lose immediately.

The enemies in Zombie Harvest are not just slow and sluggish zombies, they have many tricks to attack plants and enter your base. There are zombies that fly parachutes, some that throw tombstones to block your bullets, some that attack your plants directly from a distance,… The bosses in Zombie Harvest appear in many levels. They have high health, are very difficult to destroy and have many special abilities that bring a lot of danger to your base. Destroying the boss is also the only condition to win the levels where they appear.

Learn about power-ups

To add more depth to the game and help you defend against the already powerful enemies, Zombie Harvest offers an additional feature of upgrading plants. You can use the coins earned from the levels to upgrade plants. Upgraded plants will have significantly increased attack power, in addition to being added with passive skills such as poison, stun, depending on the type of plant.

Zombie Harvest also has three support items: Untouchable, First-Aid, and Airstrike. Untouchable will instantly freeze zombies, preventing them from moving for a short period of time, while strong zombies will not be frozen, but only slowed down. First-Aid will bring all your plants to full health. Airstrike will drop several bombs from the sky to the ground, dealing heavy damage in a limited area if they are enemies.

Support items are consumable resources, they will decrease every time you use them, you need to buy them from the shop and they are not cheap. In terms of usefulness, you should prioritize buying Untouchable the most, then Airstrike and only buy First-Aid if you want to pass extremely difficult levels but do not have enough coins to upgrade the tree.
